Dome detail

This is the inside of the dome. None of the sticks are touching. It's
the pattern that they are stuck into the fabric that stretches and
squeezes the dome shape into a nice solid form.

Dome

I played around with Buckminster Fuller ideas for a while. This dome
was to flesh out an idea I had. The fabric and sticks create a
construct B. Fuller coined as 'tensegrity' - integrity in tension. But
the concept was invented by the artist Kenneth Snelson who called it
'floating compresion'.

Completed wing rib

A close up of a completed wing rib. I find the entire process of
aircraft construction very beautiful.

First post

This is one of my hobbies. I am building a small airplane in my
apartment. It will carry 1 human. This picture is of the first pieces
of spruce being bent ant cut and glued in the wing rib jig. There will
be 24 ribs that will give shape to the wing's airfoil.
